Our Origin

One cold morning, while on a break from my hectic schedule as a delivery driver, I found myself reflecting on the relentless demands of the job. I drove past a compact, efficiently designed local coffee shop. The simplicity and functionality of the space sparked a realization: could a similar concept be adapted to address the dire needs of gig economy workers like myself, who often lack basic amenities while on the road?

This realization hit close to home due to a particularly challenging experience just days prior. During a long shift, my menstrual flow had unexpectedly intensified, leaving me in a desperate situation without access to a restroom. Forced to end my shift early I still clocked 11 hours, the humiliation and stress of that day were overwhelming, for context once I clocked out is when I finally got near a restroom. Shockingly as I was preparing my kids for school and myself for work the very next morning, I received a text message:

my employment was terminated. The lack of basic provisions had cost me my job.

This personal ordeal crystalized my resolve to create GottaGos. Envisioned as more than just restrooms, these modular hubs would offer secure, clean, and easily accessible facilities strategically placed for drivers. Here, someone could take a moment to regroup, manage personal needs discreetly, and access essential items like snacks and hygiene products without veering off route.

GottaGos was born from a moment of personal crisis, transformed into a vision for widespread change. It represents a movement towards dignifying the working conditions for those in the gig economy by ensuring they can perform their roles without compromising their basic human needs.
